Happy New Year, Akira Academy Families!

Welcome to a brand-new year at Akira Academy Daycare and Preschool! January is a time of fresh starts, goal setting, and excitement as we embrace opportunities to grow and learn together. Here’s what’s happening this month:

Winter Wonderland Learning

January’s curriculum themes include exploring the wonders of winter, understanding hibernation, and learning about snow and ice. Our classrooms are abuzz with activities like creating snowflake crafts, experimenting with ice melting, and reading winter-themed stories. Be sure to check out updates on Brightwheel to see your child’s creations!

Special Events

  • New Year’s Goal Boards: Each class will work on goal-setting projects, where students (and teachers!) will share what they hope to achieve in 2025.

  • Winter Gear Drive: We’re collecting gently used coats, hats, and gloves for families in need through January 31. Donation bins are in the main lobby.

  • National Puzzle Day (January 29): To celebrate problem-solving and critical thinking, we’ll have a puzzle party where students can team up to solve fun challenges.

Parent Engagement

Don’t miss our first Parents’ Night Out of the year on Friday, January 19! It’s a great opportunity to relax while we take care of your little ones. Reserve your spot early, as space is limited.

Important Reminders

  • Winter Weather Closures: Keep an eye on our Brightwheel app for announcements about weather-related closures or delays.

  • Enrollment Updates: If you know a family looking for high-quality daycare or preschool, let them know we’re now accepting mid-year enrollments in select classrooms.

Thank You, Families!

As always, we’re grateful for your support and partnership. Together, we’re building a strong foundation for your child’s future. Let’s make January a month full of warmth, growth, and learning!
