Festive Cheer and Winter Adventures: December at Akira Academy

December is a magical time of year, and Akira Academy is ready to celebrate the season with exciting events, joyful learning, and heartfelt togetherness. As the year comes to a close, we invite our families to join us in creating lasting memories filled with warmth and cheer.

Classroom Happenings

Our classrooms are alive with the spirit of the holidays:

- Young Toddlers: Little hands will be busy crafting winter-themed art projects, singing holiday songs, and exploring sensory bins filled with festive surprises like jingle bells and "snow" made from safe, tactile materials.

- Pre-K Counts: Our Pre-K students are delving into winter traditions around the world, learning about diverse cultures through stories, crafts, and games. They’ll also be making handmade gifts to bring home and share with their families.

- Infant Room: Ms. Marquita and her team will introduce our youngest learners to the sights and sounds of the season through twinkling lights, soft holiday music, and sensory toys that celebrate the season.

Special Events

Trip to Adventure Aquarium

On Thursday, December 12th, our Pre-K and older toddler classes will embark on an exciting trip to the Adventure Aquarium. This adventure will give our students a chance to learn about marine life and enjoy a day of exploration. Permission slips and trip details will be sent out soon—be sure to return them by December 5th.

Holiday Party

Join us on Saturday, December 14th, for our annual Holiday Party! This festive event will include games, crafts, a special visit from Santa, and plenty of holiday treats. All families are welcome to join in the fun as we celebrate the season together.

Winter Break

Akira Academy will be closed for winter break from Monday, December 23rd, through Friday, January 3rd. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th, 2025. We hope everyone enjoys a restful and joyous holiday season with loved ones.

Reminders

- Seasonal Weather: Please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate winter clothing, including hats, gloves, and warm coats. Outdoor play is an important part of our day, even in chilly weather!

- Holiday Spirit Week: From December 16th to 20th, we’ll have fun theme days like Pajama Day, Ugly Sweater Day, and Winter Wonderland Day. Details will be shared soon in your Brightwheel app.

Reflecting on the Year

As we wrap up 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the wonderful families, dedicated staff, and bright, curious children who make Akira Academy so special. This year has been one of growth, learning, and joy, and we look forward to what 2025 will bring.
